ZAIM KAMARUZAMAN

Zaim’s practice explores the strength and symbolism of institutions through a powerful visual language rooted in classical architecture and national identity using the concept of monuments as metaphors. His signature use of Roman columns and a monochromatic Romanticism with meticulously textured ballpoint pen lines imbues each piece with profound patriotic symbolism., transforming each drawing into a monument of meaning. Those impressive works evoke patriotic pride and unity with complex layers of nationhood.

Zaim has swiftly emerged as a compelling voice in contemporary art. With a Diploma in Fine Art (2019) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art (2021) he gained major recognition in 2023 by winning the Grand Prize at the Art Against AIDS competition and launches his first sold out solo exhibition, RESOLUTE, at Artas Gallery showing a total of 18 works.
