An exhibition here starts with an idea, not an inventory.

We build each show around a question worth asking, then find the artists who answer it in their own language, which often means work that has never been shown together before and sometimes work made for the room it will hang in. The gallery in Moscow is where most of them begin; Paris, Shanghai and Seoul are where they are tested against a wider audience. What we are trying to give an artist is not a slot in a calendar but a context they can be read in.
